About

Abigail Powers, originally from Farmington, MI, relocated to the Milford area in 2012. After finishing her BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Graphic Design she briefly worked as a designer, but soon went back to school to be an art teacher. Transitioning into education, Abby embarked on a journey as a K-12 art teacher, commencing at Milford High School in 2007. Her dedication led her to a full-time role at Muir Middle School in 2010, where she remained for a decade.

While witnessing the blossoming creativity of her students brought her immense joy, Abby was ready for a new challenge. Amidst the solitude of the pandemic, she found solace and inspiration in her personal artistic endeavors. Embracing drawing and painting as daily rituals, she discovered a profound sense of fulfillment. Thus, she embarked on a new chapter, dedicating herself entirely to her art.

Balancing her time between her home studio, where she undertakes graphic design projects for diverse clients, and creating vibrant watercolor and pen & ink paintings, Abigail finds inspiration in nature, music, and literature. Her pieces exude a vibrant energy, infusing any space with a sense of joy and freshness.

During the summer months, Abigail showcases her work at local art shows like Art in the Park and Milford Memories. Additionally, she shares her expertise through regular teaching sessions at The SHAC, Milford's Community Art Center. Her art is available for purchase on her website and is also distributed through Faire for wholesale purposes. If you are local to Michigan there are also many shops that sell her work.
